or cantilevers, that extend away from the platform and over the sea
surface. This design provides the derrick with a large range of
motion. It can extend and work above existing fixed oil platforms.
The OTD Hydraulic system and components for cantilever
and drill floor skidding is designed to extend and retract the
hydraulic cylinders to skid the cantilever and drill floor of the
KFELS B312 jack-up drilling rig “Petro Godovanec”. It is
designed and fabricated in accordance with the relevant rules and
regulations of ABS.
The scope of supply included in the OTD series of skidding
system includes the following:
Four (4) cylinders for cantilever skidding (two per
PORT and STBD sides)
Two (2) cylinders for drill floor skidding (one per
FWD and AFT sides)
One (1) hydraulic power unit (HPU) for cantilever
skidding
Two (2) control consoles (one each for cantilever
and drill floor skidding)
The cantilever skidding control console is designed to skid
the cantilever longitudinally in the FWD and AFT directions. This
is achieved by four (4) cantilever skidding cylinders - two per
PORT and STBD skidding units that are mounted to the
foundation on the main deck.
The drill floor skidding control console is designed to skid
the drill floor structure in the PORT and STBD directions. This is
achieved by two (2) drill floor skidding cylinders that are mounted
to the drill floor structure.
The Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) is designed to power the
cantilever skidding cylinders. The hydraulic oil reservoir has a
useable fluid capacity of 1,500 liters. A sight glass and filling point
/ breather are fitted on the tank reservoir.
Figure 1.8 shows a general arrangement of the cylinders for
cantilever skidding (one side).

Drill Floor Skidding (one side).
