 CPU (Central Processing Unit) where the actual processing of
                 data takes place.
 System clock circuitry (that keeps all of the digital chips in
                 lockstep)
 Other controller chips that act as traffic cops directing data
flow along the system busses (the circuitry connecting the
chips to the CPU) and I/O ports.
 RAM (the main memory, plus additional slots for adding
                 more memory)
              ROM (containing the BIOS)
              “CMOS memory”
 Expansion slots (for adding expansion cards such as Video
                 cards and Sound cards)
Most computer hardware is not seen by normal users. It is in
embedded systems in automobiles, microwave ovens,
electrocardiograph machines, compact disc players, and other
devices. Personal computers, the computer hardware familiar to most
people, form only a small minority of computers.

Task 3. Do you remember the English equivalents of the following
         words and word combinations?
На відміну від, рідко замінюватись, мідні з’єднання компоновки
схеми, в зв’язці, працювати як співробітник ДАЇ, КМОН-
         пам'ять.

Task 4. Answer the following questions?
         1. Give the definition of the term “computer hardware”.
         2. What devices does computer hardware consist of?
         3. What is the primary component of the computer?
         4. Where can computer hardware be used?
