Let me introduce myself. My first (Christian) name is Victor.
My last name (surname) is Koval. I am from Ukraine, from the
Western Ukraine, to be more precise. I was born in the Precarpathian
Region in the ancient town of Halych. I spent my childhood there.
Now I live in Ivano-Frankivsk, the regional center of Precarpathia. I
rent a room in one of the residential areas in the suburbs. I am a first-
year student at the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of
                            Oil and Gas.
I was born on the first of July 19xx so I am 18 years old. I was
born into the family of engineers. At the age of seven I began school.
I went to High (comprehensive secondary) School # 1 in my home
town. I left school last year. At school I was good at Sciences. My
favourite subjects were Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and
Biology. As I am a technically-minded person (at least my parents
think so) I wanted to take the course of engineering cybernetics at
Kyiv University after leaving school. But competition for a
University place was rather stiff and I wasn’t admitted. Then I
worked and pursued my education at a vocational technical school. I
was also a student of the Preparatory Department of the University of
Oil and Gas, for both my parents and my friends advised me to enter
this higher institution. Choosing a University course was not easy.
My parents insisted on Documentation and Information Studies, but I
                            decided to choose Computer Engineering.
This summer I was luckier: I did well in my entrance exams
and was enrolled a student. Now I am a full time first-year student of
the Computer Science Department. I’m going to work as a software
                            designer.
My mother tongue is Ukrainian. I can speak Russian and Polish
fluently. I have been learning English for three years, but my English
                            is still poor.
I am fond of reading books on history. I play football and go in
for swimming. I enjoy life and fun. I am keen on good music and I
am interested in politics. Unfortunately, I neither sing nor dance. I
don’t travel so much as I’d like to either, but I go out as often as
possible and make friends faster than anybody else in my family. My
best friends are my former school-mates. I like independence. I want
to do my own thing, make my own friends, and live my own life.
                                  I am not married.
                                                           ***
