Peculiarities of oil and gas text editing

I. Read the following text.

Editing oil and gas text has its own peculiarities that every professional

editor should know. Edit oil and gas texts according to the laws of logic. When

editing the text, it is necessary to remember the basic requirements that are put

forward to the arguments (arguments) as a special form of thought, namely:

- clear statement of the thesis and arguments;

- the wording of the thesis in the course of evidence remains unchanged;

- Theses and arguments should not contradict each other;

- as an argument to use the position, the truth of which is not in doubt;

- the evidence must be complete and sufficient.

Editing oil and gas text is carried out in three stages:

1. Initial acquaintance with the text of the document. Before you start editing

the text, you should read it completely. It is not advisable to make edits during the

first reading, however, it is possible to make notes on the shores or to record a brief

note on a separate sheet of paper.

2. Checking the actual material. At this stage, it is advisable to check the

correctness and probability of the information provided, to think about whether

there is enough actual material for a certain text.

3. The editing of the material. This stage requires language correction:

correction of spelling, punctuation and stylistic errors. Edits in the text make blue

or black ink (and not red). Words, numbers in the text must be clear and accurate.

Corrected text must be reprinted, read again.

Techniques for highlighting selected parts of the text. To select in the text of

individual words or parts you can recommend four methods:

1. Large letters. This method serves to highlight individual words.

2. Individual words and short phrases are executed with diligence.
