2. I MISS HIM
One day, a little old lady in her seventies came into a doctor's
office for a consultation. She expounded all her ailments, real and
imaginary, but seemed most concerned about a recurring dream in
which she was pursued by a young man whose intentions seemed
dishonourable. The doctor was properly sympathetic, and advised
her how she might sleep more soundly.
In a few days she returned, still woeful.
«Don't tell me you aren't sleeping better nowadays,» teased the
doctor.
«Oh, I'm sleeping just fine», the patient replied, «but to tell the
truth, doctor, I miss that young man».
